Kathleen Givens, fellow author of Scots historical romances and a dear friend of mine, passed away unexpectedly last week. For those who knew her by her books, a treasure has been lost. For those who knew her from Scottish festival signings, the world has grown a little dimmer without her bright smile in it. |

I just made a fantastic trip to Scotland with my author friend, Lauren Royal, researching places that will appear in my next book! We stayed in a haunted castle, braved hundreds of slippery steps to storm-tossed Dunnottar, saw Queen Mary's chambers at Holyrood, went pub-hopping in Edinburgh, and interviewed the expert at the world's oldest golf course!
