Dr. Horrible's Evil League of Evil! |

I just have to brag a bit on my daughter Brynna's latest musical accomplishment...
A few months ago, Joss Whedon ("Buffy" and "Angel"), Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother") and Nathan Fillion ("Firefly") created a fun, silly, episodic superhero musical on the internet called "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" (which you can watch at drhorrible.com). Planning to make a DVD out of the series, they invited people to come up with videotaped job applications for The Evil League of Evil, from which they would choose 10 applicants for inclusion on the Extras for the DVD.
Well, out of hundreds of applicants, Brynna (aka Princess Zombie) was chosen for her song, "Undead"! The DVD is currently #2 at Amazon.com and is up for a People's Choice Award for Best Internet Sensation! There are still a few days left to vote for it here: www.pcavote.com/pca/votenow.jsp
By curious coincidence, Brynna is going to be a seat-filler at the People's Choice show! (I told her she should go up to accept the award if they win.) |

"The Coventry Carol is named after the city of Coventry. It was a carol performed in the play The Pageant of The Shearman and Tailors, written in the 15th century as one of the Coventry Cycle Mystery Plays. These plays depicted the nativity story, the lyrics of the Coventry Carol referring to the Annunciation to the Massacre of the Innocents, which was the basis of the Pageant of the Shearmen and Tailors. These plays were traditionally performed on the steps of the (old) Cathedral, and the plays are believed to have been performed for both Richard III in 1484 and Henry VII in 1584."
